Job Description:

  • Sort and organize logs by species, size, grade, or destination according to production requirements.
  • Inspect incoming logs for quality, damage, and compliance with company specifications.
  • Perform pre-operational inspections of loaders and related equipment, including checking hydraulic systems, fluid levels, brakes, tires, and safety devices.
  • Carry out routine maintenance such as lubrication, cleaning, and minor adjustments, and report equipment defects requiring repair.
  • Maintain safe and efficient traffic flow within the log yard and coordinate loading activities with truck drivers and other crew members.
  • Follow loading schedules and production targets to ensure timely movement of timber and minimize operational delays.
  • Operate equipment safely on uneven terrain and under varying weather conditions while complying with company safety policies and environmental regulations.
  • Complete daily equipment inspection reports, maintenance records, and production logs.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, truck drivers, and other logging personnel using radios or other communication devices.
  • Assist with site preparation and cleanup activities as required to support logging operations.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Completion of Secondary School is required.
  • Minimum 1-year work experience in the related field is required.
