Responsibilities
Tasks
- Identify and develop potential insurance markets and new business opportunities through referrals, networking, community outreach, and client relationship building.
- Assess potential individual, commercial, institutional, and business client insurance needs by evaluating risk exposures, financial information, and coverage requirements to identify appropriate insurance solutions and opportunities.
- Conduct detailed client needs assessments through consultations to determine existing coverage, risk tolerance, and gaps in protection across personal and commercial insurance lines.
- Obtain, review, and compare insurance quotations from multiple insurers, analyzing policy terms, coverage limits, deductibles, exclusions, and premium rates to recommend suitable options.
- Calculate, prepare, and clearly explain insurance premiums and policy details, including coverage conditions, limits, deductibles, endorsements, and exclusions to ensure client understanding.

Recommend, explain, and sell a range of insurance products including automobile, property, fire, commercial and liability insurance coverage.

Establish and structure client insurance coverage by preparing customized insurance solutions, completing applications, and submitting required documentation to insurers for underwriting approval.
- Liaise with insurance underwriters and carrier representatives to facilitate policy issuance, clarify underwriting requirements, and ensure accurate and timely processing of applications.
- Establish and arrange client payment methods, including annual payments, installment plans, and pre-authorized payment options, ensuring continuity of coverage and accurate processing of transactions.
- Assist clients with policy renewals by reviewing existing coverage, recommending adjustments based on updated risk profiles, and obtaining updated quotations from insurers.
- Support clients through the insurance claims process by explaining procedures, assisting with documentation, and communicating with claims adjusters and insurers to ensure proper claim handling.
- Respond to client inquiries regarding insurance coverage, policy terms, billing matters, renewals, endorsements, and claims in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, policy files, and transaction history using brokerage management systems while ensuring confidentiality and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure all insurance activities comply with applicable provincial insurance regulations, licensing requirements, privacy legislation, and brokerage policies and procedures.
- Provide ongoing customer service by maintaining client relationships, conducting periodic policy reviews, and ensuring clients receive appropriate coverage as their needs change.
