JOB DETAILS

  •  Salary: $37.25 / hour
  •  Vacancies: 1 vacancy
  •  Terms of employment: Permanent, Full time 35 to 44 hr/ week
  •  Start date: As soon as possible.
  •  Employment conditions: Early morning, Morning, Day, Evening, Night, on call, Weekend, Overtime required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Languages: English

Asset Languages: Hindi, Punjabi

Education: Registered Apprenticeship certificate.

Other Credentials: Working at heights Training, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.

Experience: 2 to 3 years

On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to details, Hand-eye co-ordination, Bending, Crouching, Kneeling, Physically demanding, Handle heavy loads, Large Workload, Work under pressure.

Personal suitability: Accurate, Client focus, Excellent oral communication, Excellent written communication, Team Player.

Work site environment: Outdoors, Confined spaces, Commercial or Residential, Construction site.

Work setting: Commercial or Residential, Construction site and various locations.

Tasks:

  • Install domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems.
  • Repair domestic, commercial or industrial plumbing fixtures and systems.
  • Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems.
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors.
  • Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.
  • Schedule personnel, tools and equipment.
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
  • Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
  • Supervise other workers.
  • Estimate costs and materials.
  • Operate CADD and other computer software systems.
  • Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size.
