Job Description:

ZRP HOME is seeking a caring, responsible, and enthusiastic Family Child Care Provider to join our home-based childcare environment in the Country Hills NW area of Calgary. This is a full-time, permanent position, ideal for someone passionate about early childhood development and committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging setting for children.

Responsibilities:

1. Child Supervision & Safety:
Provide constant supervision to ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
Monitor children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, naps, and other activities.
Follow safety protocols, including childproofing the environment and emergency preparedness.

2. Engaging & Educational Activities:
Plan and implement age-appropriate learning activities (e.g., storytelling, arts & crafts, music, and sensory play).
Encourage cognitive, social, and emotional development through play-based learning.
Organize outdoor activities (walks, playground visits, or backyard play) to promote physical development.

3. Daily Routine & Care:
Follow a structured daily schedule that includes playtime, learning activities, meals, and rest periods.
Assist with toilet training, diaper changes, and personal hygiene as needed.
Ensure children follow healthy habits, such as handwashing and proper nutrition.

4. Meal Preparation & Nutrition:
Prepare and serve balanced meals and snacks in accordance with dietary needs and restrictions.
Ensure food safety and cleanliness when handling meals.
Encourage positive eating habits and table manners.

5. Communication with Parents:
Provide daily updates to parents regarding their child’s activities, behavior, and milestones.
Address any concerns or special requests from parents in a professional manner.
Maintain open and respectful communication to build trust with families.

6. Household & Sanitation Duties:
Keep the childcare area clean, sanitized, and free of hazards.
Wash dishes, toys, and play areas regularly.
Launder children’s bedding, clothing, or towels as needed.

7. Behavioral Guidance & Emotional Support:
Use positive reinforcement and redirection techniques to manage behavior.
Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment where children feel secure and valued.
Help children develop conflict-resolution and social skills.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Completion of high school or equivalent
Experience in childcare (preferred but not mandatory; training may be provided).
First Aid & CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to provide a safe, loving, and structured environment.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Attention to detail and able to work under pressure
Must pass a background check.
