Responsibilities
Tasks
- Operate both manual and automated welding machinery to carry out accurate metal joining tasks.
 
- Inspect welds to ensure compliance with required standards, specifications, and quality control parameters.
 
- Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting tools to cut metal to precise sizes.
 
- Use shearing, bending, and straightening machines to form and shape metal pieces.
 
- Assemble, braze, and straighten metal using torches and other equipment to align parts correctly.
 
- Operate oxygen arc cutting systems to cut metal with high precision.
 
- Evaluate materials to determine their suitability for welding based on strength and compatibility.
 
- Control hoisting and lifting equipment to safely position metal components for further processing.
 
- Operate pre-set welding machinery to fabricate, repair, or modify metal parts as required.
 
- Operate brazing or soldering machines to join metal parts and repair damage such as holes or seams.
 
- Initiate, shut down, and adjust robotic welding systems, ensuring smooth and consistent operation.
 
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on welding, brazing, and soldering machines to keep them in good working order.
 
- Adhere to safety regulations and maintain a secure work environment.
 
- Adjust machine settings and parameters according to the specific requirements of materials and jobs.
