Position: Human resources officer (NOC 12101)
Wage: $34.07/hour
Full-time: 40 hours per week

Venu Event Space is a state-of-the-art facility, which is one of the largest in Ontario. Venu Event Space is located at the corner of Highway 7 and Credistone Road in Vaughan, just steps from the new Vaughan Metropolitan Subway Station. Venu Event Space has the facility for social events, such as a gala event, wedding or corporate conference, with the capacity of hosting 2,000 people throughout the entire event space including a one-of-a-kind ballroom which can host up to 1,400 guests. Our team consists of about 100 employees, who are passionate and committed to providing our clients with the flawless service to exceed their expectations. We are looking for a Human resources administrator to join our team to help us provide the best possible service to our clients.
Duties:
- Identify current and prospective staffing requirements, prepare and post notices and advertisements, and collect and screen applications
- Advise job applicants on employment requirements and on terms and conditions of employment
- Review candidate inventories and contact potential applicants to arrange interviews and transfers, redeployment and placement of personnel
- Recruit graduates of colleges, universities and other educational institutions
- Coordinate and participate in selection and examination boards to evaluate candidates
- Notify applicants of results of selection process and prepare job offers
- Advise managers and employees on staffing policies and procedures
- Organize and administer staff consultation and grievance procedures
- Determine eligibility to entitlements, arrange staff training and provide information or services such as employee assistance, counselling and recognition programs
- May manage and follow up on the opening of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) files
- May supervise personnel clerks performing filing and record-keeping duties.
Requirements:
- A college diploma in a field related to personnel management, or completion of a professional development program in personnel administration
- 1-2 years of experience in a clerical or administrative position related to personnel administration
- Strong English communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and multi-tasking ability
