Position: Truck Trailer Mechanic

Salary and Benefits

Salary: $35.00 per hour

Overtime and Vacation Pay

Stable & full-time employment

Referral Bonus: $1000.00 CAD (for current employees).

Relocation Assistance: $1500.00 CAD (for qualified candidates coming from different cities, provinces, or regions).

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair commercial transport trucks and trailers, including brakes, suspension, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and structural components, ensuring everything meets manufacturer specs and government safety standards.
  • Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify mechanical or electronic issues, troubleshoot problems, and determine the necessary repairs.
  • Repair or replace faulty parts and systems to keep vehicles running safely and efficiently.
  • Perform regular maintenance like engine tune-ups, oil changes, and component adjustments or replacements to keep vehicles in top shape.
  • Test and inspect vehicles after repairs to confirm everything is working properly and meets safety regulations.
  • Clearly explain repair needs, costs, and timelines to management and clients to ensure transparency and trust.
  • Keep detailed records of all work performed, including diagnostic results, repairs completed, and parts replaced.
  • Organize and maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts, and suggest updates or replacements to improve efficiency.
  • Work closely with team members to manage workflow, share knowledge, and tackle complex repair projects.
  • Stay informed about new tools, technologies, and best practices in the industry to deliver high-quality service.
  • Keep the workspace clean, organized, and safe while following all workplace safety guidelines.
  • Take on additional duties as needed to support the overall operation and success of the repair facility.

 

Job Requirements

  • Completion of Secondary school.
  • Either completion of a 3 - 4 - year apprenticeship program or at least 2-3 years of hands-on experience.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, with the ability to use diagnostic tools and read repair manuals.
  • Clear and effective communication skills, both spoken and written, for team collaboration and accurate documentation.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment, following all safety protocols.
