Minimum Education Required: Completion of secondary school is usually required.
Work Experience Required: At least 1 year of work experience is required in a similar role

Responsibilities:
- Chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients.
 
- Preparing sauces, stocks, and dressings.
 
- Marinating meats and preparing other raw ingredients for cooking.
 
- Grilling, frying, baking, roasting, and boiling food items.
 
- Ensuring food is cooked to the correct temperature and consistency.
 
- Following recipes and portion controls.
 
- Assisting in the creation and planning of menus.
 
- Suggesting new recipes and dishes.
 
- Considering dietary restrictions and preferences.
 
- Tasting dishes to ensure they meet the establishment’s standards.
 
- Adjusting seasoning and presentation as needed.
 
- Ensuring food is served at the correct temperature and in a timely manner.
 
- Keeping track of food supplies and ingredients.
 
- Ordering new stock as necessary.
 
- Managing storage to prevent waste and spoilage.
 
- Cleaning and sanitizing work areas, utensils, and equipment.
 
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
 
- Properly storing food to maintain freshness and prevent contamination.
 
- Coordinating with other kitchen staff and servers.
 
- Communicating effectively to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
 
- Training and supervising junior cooks and kitchen assistants.
 
- Occasionally interacting with customers to receive feedback.
 
- Customizing dishes according to customer requests.
 
- Maintaining records of food costs and inventory.
 
- Participating in budgeting and cost control measures.
 
- Reporting any kitchen issues or maintenance needs to management.
