 V & S Food Langford Ltd - Mucho Burrito located at 102-3016 Merchant Way, Victoria BC V9B 0X1, has an immediate opening for 2 Cooks to join our team as a full-time employee 35-40 hours per week.

Education

Completion of secondary school is required. Completion of 3 months to 1 year of non-university certificate or diploma or other program in cooking or culinary arts.

Experience

1-2 years of commercial cooking experience is required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare foods and beverages using equipment such as grill, food processor etc.
• Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling food and beverages
• Supervise/ Manage kitchen staff and helpers
• Recruit and hire staff
• Oversee all kitchen operations
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
• Estimate food requirements and cost, and monitor and order supplies
• Set up and prepare buffets (weddings or party's)
• Set up and prepare hot lunches for school programs
• Clean kitchen and work areas
• Contribute to a positive team environment
• Provide the highest level of hospitality by engaging and interacting with guests
• Prepare all food and beverage items to the highest standard following recipes and procedures
• Anticipate and respond to flow of orders to ensure timely completion of all food items
• Knowledgeable about the menu and can communicate this to the guests
• Accurately complete all station set up and closing procedures
• Maintain food quality control and productivity at all times
• Adhere to all safe food handling procedures and uphold food safety practices
• Maintain cleanliness and health & safety standards of your station at all times
• Follow all operational policies and procedures
• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality

Physical Requirement:

• Constant standing and walking for duration of shift
• Occasional pushing, pulling and lifting weight of up to 50 lb
• Fast paced environment, work under pressure
